Everyone who woke up early on a Saturday morning to watch the live stream of ABGT 150 received a very special treat at the end of the showcase. Not only was there brand new music from Anjunabeats legends like Andrew Bayer, Nick Sember, Sunny Lax, and Above & Beyond themselves (Including the icing on the cake, brand new Oceanlab), they have officially announced that Above & Beyond Acoustic will be returning in 2016.
We at Dance Music Northwest hail the first acoustic album as one of the finest musical albums ever scored. Given that we were at their last acoustic show in LA, we can personally tell you that this next one will be nothing short life-changing. Trance music has always been, to us, the modern interpretation of classical music, but we rarely get to hear it in it’s most organic form. It’s a beauty of something so familiar and at the same time, so different. It’s the type of music that moves your soul.
So far there have been only two acoustic shows in history. One was at the historic Porchester Hall in London, and the other was right here on U.S. soil at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. There has not been any announcement of where or even when it will be other than that it will be happening in the year 2016. More information is sure to come in the coming episodes of Above & Beyond Group Therapy Radio, so be sure to subscribe to their Podcast. Our hope is that we get an announcement telling us that they will be playing at Benoroya Hall in downtown Seattle. We hope we’re the lucky ones.
To top it all off, the trio dropped in a brand new Oceanlab track for the first time in years, appropriately titled Another Chance. You can listen to a ripped version in all its glory below, while we await more news on an official release! How far will you go to see Above & Beyond Acoustic? Let us know below!
