In honor of the month of monsters, we are going to showcase these ghouls and goblins. This weekend we introduce you to the devilish black cat. It is said that if the dark feline crosses your path, you are doomed to a life of bad luck. It is a bit of a mystery where the origin of this myth began, but there are a few speculations. A cat’s ability to move silently and insidiously put some early cultures on edge. From here it was said that cats-and black ones in particular – were comrades to evil witches claiming great otherworldly awareness. Cats are devious, clever, agile hunters with a strong streak of independence- more reasons to add them into legend and spooky stories. We wanted to created a playlist that embodies the mischievous ways of the black cat. Dirty Dutch House is made from complex percussion and drumbeats, dramatic build ups, and short riffs of high-pitched synths. Complex and dramatic; just like our furry friend. So, say a black cat crosses your path this weekend. To reverse the spell, it is said to spit three times over your left shoulder and take seven steps back.(Hopefully you can incorporate this into your dance moves so it goes unnoticed.)
