Ever since launching in 2013, Club MTV has organized over 250 events and transformed into the biggest dance music touring organization the UK has ever seen.
Club MTV has replaced MTV Dance on Sky 354 and Virgin 314 and according to MTV UK, it is “the ultimate party destination” playing a wide variety of genres including EDM, urban music, House tracks and crossover hits. To celebrate the launch of the channel, the organizers embarked on a 15 stop tour (with R3WIRE & VARSKI hosting) of the UK that started in May and ended in the final days of June.
According to MTV, the new channel is not to be mistaken for the former MTV program of the same name that aired in the U.S from 1987 to 1992. That particular program saw names like Paula Abdul, New Kids on the Block, Pet Shop Boys, and Deee-lite perform newly released tracks to a live audience.
