Free UW Ableton Workshop: Seattle Meet-up, Device Show and Tell!

Ableton User Group is promoting a free and fantastic opportunity to meet, share, and collaborate with all things Ableton. The event will be held on the first of next month (October 1st, 2017) at UW CoMotion (4545 Roosevelt Way NE, Suite 400, Seattle, Washington 98105). CoMotion is the advancement center at UW committed to growing the technological and societal effect of the greater-Seattle and UW group. By creating and associating with nearby and worldwide advancement technologies and companies, CoMotion enables trend-setters to achieve their goals and get access to invaluable resources and information.

Here’s what to expect at this Ableton-themed event and what it’s all about (from the event page):

” Create an Ableton device to share with the group! You will have 5 minutes to demo your creation. In September we will listen to tracks we create with the devices.

Devices include:

  • Patches/presets you have created or altered
  • Sample packs you’ve recorded
  • Instruments
  • Max patches
  • Anything that makes or alter noise and runs in Live

Participants are asked to post a link to their device on the event page. This is to save time, as the devices will be loaded into a single project so there will be no computer switches in the demo. Ableton User Group kindly asks attendants to please test transferring your device to another machine before demoing it, this is to ensure this will run smoothly during the event. ”

Thomas Faulds, product specialist from Ableton will also be joining on Sunday for an “ask anything” session. Here’s some info about him from his website:

“In addition to making his own music, Thomas is the host of the Chicago Ableton User Group, has held electronic music workshops in several colleges, given one-on-one tutorials to various artists on Ableton Live, performs bi-weekly Guitar Center clinics and has recently started a monthly Ableton Live workshop at MIW in Chicago.”

You can also find Thomas’ work as Silences Sumire, Mercury Effect, and Spinach Prince. He has released albums with Ropeadope, Xynthetic, and ears&eyes records. This will be a great opportunity to learn from and speak with a talented, established and incredibly knowledgeable person in the industry.

Don’t miss out!- mark your calendars and head out to UW this Sunday!
