There’s no doubt that the electronic scene has been erupting over the last few years. Ticket prices have been rising steadily and the amount of attendees at each show has gone up. Enter Noise Complaint, an organization that’s dedicated to providing events that go right back to the original roots of electronic music. In short, it’s full of good vibes, and you’ll have some pretty unforgettable memories afterwards.
To celebrate their 1st Birthday, Noise Complaint is holding the usual two-room takeover at Kremwerk and the Timbre Room Complex. J.Phlip will be up from San Francisco to bless us with an extended 3-hour set. If you know anything about the house/techno artist, it’s going to be a night full of booty shaking all over the dance floor.
Because it’s a birthday and everyone loves presents, Noise Complaint is giving you an opportunity to win tickets and swag for this birthday bash. Click here to enter!
Look for more information here, in the Facebook event. Not only that, but they’re holding their first daytime party at Monkey Loft featuring performer Wood Holly. Tickets for the day party will be available to purchase at the door, and if you have a J.Phlip presale ticket you can get $5 off.
Noise Complaint was founded by Jonathan Cats and Mark Martinez on the principal of bringing back the former ways of the scene in providing intimate events at an affordable price. They had their first (unofficial) Noise Complaint event outside of Seattle at Holy Ship! courtesy of their friend (and a DJ on their roster) Bones. Jonathan Cats stated that “He pretty much let us hijack his set, and it was really special.”
In January, Noise Complaint threw an event that changed the course of their history. For the first time, they took over both rooms at Kremwerk and the Timbre Room Complex. The party was a rousing success, and to Cats, it was a moment where they suddenly evolved into a “can’t miss party” in the Seattle area.
“Bixel Boys threw down a great set and ended up playing past their time slot until the club essentially shut us down. The last hour plus of their set was just 90’s throwback Hip-Hop and R&B jams, which isn’t really our sound but was fun as hell. Who doesn’t love a 90’s party?” – Jonathan Cats
Future plans for the organization include doing some additional shows outside of Seattle, with Denver, Dallas and New York City being contenders. In addition to their out-of-town shows, Noise Complaint is going to be hosting a Halloween edition, to be announced soon. They’ve recently started up a Vimeo page, where they will post recap videos for past and future events.
