Earlier this week, west coast native KRANE teamed up with Alexander Lewis to bring us their take on Sinjin Hawke’s Onset. The result, as you might expect, is fantastic.
[pullquote align=”right”]”There’s always been this common practice of how remixers go about wanting to remix something – like it’s a measure of the original artist and their reputation, or how hyped up they are at the moment. I really just wanted to move away from that and hopefully do justice to something I found to be really special and different.” -KRANE[/pullquote]
The remix is a cocktail of each artist’s own unique style. From KRANE comes big, gritty synth pads that seem to explode when the chorus hits. Alexander Lewis lends his signature brass section, with dark, brooding tones that add a sinister dimension to the piece as a whole. It goes on to make use of breakbeat drums and an arpeggiated synth line ducks in and out of focus, giving the track direction.
