EDC Still Looking For Helping Hands. Interested? What You Should Know!

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes at EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) in Las Vegas each year. With less than two months until its 21st iteration, Insomniac is still looking for guest services and customer experience staff to help facilitate all the action that goes on underneath the electric sky. Interested? Better act fast! Here are some things to know.

Opportunities are abundant. You can apply to be a ticket scanner, work the box office, join the celebrated Ground Control festival team (think USC Events’ Conscious Crew) and more! All positions are paid, with food and free parking provided. All other accommodations, such as a travel and hotel expenses, well…you’re on your own. And while traveling roundtrip from the Pacific Northwest to Las Vegas is somewhat affordable (on Google Flights, trips from Portland and Seattle start at roughly $210 during the later part of EDC week), hotels are a different story. Expect to pay some serious green as prices in Sin City typically skyrocket during the Summer.

Still interested? To get started, shoot an email expressing your desire to work to Insomniac’s staffing department at staffing@insomniac.com. Don’t wait either. Interviews are going on NOW and candidates from around the world are competing for a spot. IF help is still wanted, you’ll receive an email detailing the next step: applying online. The online application is like any other job application; you’ll be asked for contact information, updated resume (preferably in PDF format) and have to answer situational questions pertaining to times you’ve helped others.

If Insomniac likes your profile, you’ll be invited to do a Skype interview with one of the team representatives. If you make it this far, make sure your webcam and Wi-Fi are strong. Oh, and have a Skype account. That’s kind of important too. From there, a decision will be made days later.

While the idea of going to perhaps the biggest electronic dance music festival in North America for free in exchange for a few hours of hard work, sounds attractive, it’s important to note you will be busy and might not have time to enjoy the music and other happenings going on. Shifts run over 12 hours, with breaks included. You can either work one day, two or do all three. Training and orientation is currently scheduled for Thursday June 15th, a day before the event kickoff.

If you want to go to take a day off to enjoy EDC as a fan, you’ll have to buy a single-day ticket. Either way, working it will surely be an unforgettable experience, one that will allow you to meet and help people from around the globe. In today’s chaotic climate, we need more good like that.

For more information about working EDC, email Insomniac in the address posted above. Will we see you under the electric sky in June?
