Featuring over 25 stages, 300+ performers and special guests from the Northwest and beyond, Seattle’s newest festival, Upstream, is making quite a debut. It’s already one of the most diverse fests in our region, as many genres are represented, including dance music. Upper Left Live, the mastermind behind events like the Dirty Bird BBQ, Shadows and Source New Years Eve, is helping to bring those dance music vibes, curating a stage of its own. Lending a hand are some local favorites, some you might have heard of.
Eleven DJs and producers, pictured above, will take to the Upper Left decks Friday, May 12th. The special guests, teased in the initial lineup release, are Seattle’s Mike Illvester, one-half of the electro-soul duo Fly Moon Royalty, and Olympia native DOT, founder of Unspeakable Records and member of Team Supreme- pioneers behind “the modern concept of a producer collective“.
The action will be split between two areas and feature ‘LIVE’ performances only, making this event unlike anything Upper Left has done before. However, if Upper Left’s Upstream getup is anything like their previous events, you can expect good music, good vibes, a few surprises…maybe even some delicious food!
Passes to the 3-day festival are on sale now. The action kicks off Thursday, May 11th in Seattle’s Pioneer Square, with stages scattered all around- including some free ones. What are your thoughts about Upstream? Going? Who are you looking forward to seeing? Drop us a comment below!
