Defined by its commitment to lasers as much as its 140 bpm, hardstyle is the ultimate high-energy genre. Although it hasn’t completely made its way to the Northwest, it’s slowly but surely gaining momentum Stateside, thanks in large part to Q-Dance, an organization devoted to spreading hardstyle across the world.
While everyone was watching Tiesto close out the first night of Paradiso this year, a small but passionate crowd was treated to hardstyle legend Headhunterz and his one-of-a-kind live show, as he dropped track after track that made it impossible not to jump for the entire hour. Now imagine that, only for any entire festival on a single stage with tens of thousands of people, and you have yourself a Q-Dance stage.
Maybe someday it’ll finally come to the Pacific Northwest, but in the meantime we’ll live vicariously through Mysteryland. If you’re not familiar with with the genre, let this after-movie be your introduction. WARNING: You will want to fight the urge to learn how to shuffle. Don’t fight that urge, just dance.
Important things happen in Pacific Northwest nightlife, and DMNW will send you alerts!
