The high-tempos of happy hardcore can be found in Kent this holiday season. Hosted by Seattle Hardcore, another edition of ‘Rockin’ Stocking’ is taking place at Warehouse 4-3 on Saturday, Nov. 26th. Featuring two incredible, and diverse, headliners, Rockin’ Stocking is the best place to get your happy hardcore fix as we awaken from our collective Thanksgiving stupor.
Rockin’ Stocking: The Gift returns to the Northwest this fall, and are bringing more hardcore heavy hitters with them in 2016. Featuring happy hardcore legend DJ Sharkey, and the debut U.S. performance from fellow UK-native Cyrax, Seattle Hardcore once again proved why they’re the place to go for Northwest hardcore events. Tickets are currently available to the ages 18+ event, which will cover two rooms and is taking place in Kent, at Warehouse 4-3. Kicking-off at 8 p.m., Rockin’ Stocking: The Gift is the perfect post-Thanksgiving way to get your dosage of holiday happy hardcore.
There will be some early-presents for us to enjoy as well, with special sets in-store for the evening. At the top of the billing, the historic DJ Sharkey will be spinning a 90-minute ‘History of Hardcore’ set. The Englishman has been mostly retired since 2011, but his impact on the hardcore scene has been felt throughout the UK and beyond since the early-90s. His Bonkers mix series, along with compatriot DJ Hixxy, is one of the most influential compilation series in all of dance music. Now, Northwest hardcore fans have a chance to get Bonkers with one of the genre’s greats.
Before the history lesson, we’ll get to join Cyrax for a momentous event in his career. Making his debut in the states, the DJ/Producer/Label Owner/Promoter from Manchester will be showcasing all of the latest freeform and hardcore tunes. He has releases on many of the top hardcore labels, and in running his own, is continuing to push the genre in new directions.
The headlining duo will be joined by a group of local supporting acts throughout the two-room event. Featuring in ‘Santa’s Gritty Grotto’, alongside DJ Sharkey and Cyrax, will be Ian K, Wheelz (with a special UK Hard House set), Channel Surfer, Travis West, and Recca. Over in Rudolph’s Rave Cave, Ecchi & Kezaki, Atomic, Breed, T-Rev, Lovecapacitor, and DJ 5TOES will be in charge of proverbial aux cord.
Those in attendance are also encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate. Each donation will earn the donor one raffle ticket, in order for the chance to win one of three pairs of tickets to the next Seattle Hardcore show!
