The holidays are almost here, and we’re looking forward to our favorite festivities. With Thanksgiving coming up, we have much to be excited and thankful for. One of those many things is GRiZ’s tour stops in the northwest. With the release of his album Good Will Prevail in August, we’re looking forward to ‘giving thanks’ to the funky, electro beats.
GRiZ’s 5th studio album, titles and lyrics seek to spread positivity, which seems fitting considering some of the events circulating social media in the last week. The album has our favorite hits like Good Times Roll, Before I Go, and My Friends and I, which reflect his traditional sound that we love. We eagerly anticipate what he’ll have in store for us that evening.
We are also lucky to have Haywyre and Brasstracks at both stops in the northwest. Haywyre was one of our surprise favorites at Shambhala this year. The young producer’s live keyboard mixed in with his heavier funky tunes will surely make you dance. Haywyre is truly passionate about music, which resounded thoroughly from his presence during the set. Brasstracks released their seven song EP Good Love in August, and it’s message of unity and love resonates similarly to GRiZ’s style. Their mix of trumpet and drums will make for an all around, hearty night of “Funksgiving.”
The continual message of solidarity and hopefulness that surrounds each artist makes this tour a fitting way to celebrate our Thanksgiving holiday. The tour will be stopping in Spokane on Tuesday November 22 at the Knitting Factory. You can get tickets here for $28.56 after fees. We’ll be seeing GRiZ at the Seattle stop the following night at the SOLD OUT Paramount Theater. If you missed out on tickets keep checking the event page, as people might be selling them before the show. Which performance will we be seeing you at for “Funksgiving?”
Important things happen in Pacific Northwest nightlife, and DMNW will send you alerts!
