Together Fest, the first all female DJ festival, announced today that their show on October 8th will be cancelled for the time being. Together Fest was set to premiere in San Francisco at the SF Armory, but they unfortunately had an issue with the new sound system being delivered and are unable to keep the original date.
We reached out to them to find why the event was cancelled and if they were planning on rescheduling.
“We unfortunately had an issue with the delivery of the new sound system — the SF Armory is an historic hundred year old former National Guard barracks with a 4000 sq. ft dance floor and an 80-ft domed roof, which has just undergone a major overhaul this summer. Not having the new audio would have dramatically impacted what we could have provided for the artists and audience.
Given that this was one of the first festival dedicated to female DJs and artists, and that there was so much positive attention both from fans and press, we didn’t want to do anything that wasn’t a hundred percent. We decided to reschedule the event to Spring 2017, when we could truly showcase them, and will be announcing the new date shortly.”
SF Armory, also known as the San Francisco National Guard Armory has gone through major construction with the vestibules, restrooms, VIP and storage area this past summer. It was originally built in 1914, and is a full service event space. The SF Armory has held EDM shows in the past and has been open to the EDM community.
We respect Together Fest wanting to provide the audience and artists with the best event, and look forward to hearing when the new date will be released. We will keep you updated on all information as we receive it.
