It is a big compliment for Seattle to be a stop for top-tier producers. It is even better that Q Nightclub is hosting influential and universally respected artist Alan Fitzpatrick to their decks. Along with him, their Funktion-One sound system, which has supported a series of recent productions, including the newly released fabric 87: a 76-minute compilation of bootleg edits, previously unreleased original mixes, and no shortage of tough warehouse kick drums.
Thursday, May 16 Fitzpatrick comes to Q Nightclub in Seattle armed with trademark heavy-funk grooves pumping below the emotive chord sequences that have dazzled fans since 2008.
With support from Rob Winter and Naturalkind, Alan Fitzpatrick headlines Studio 4/4 at Q. Thursdays at Q are all about House, Progressive, Deep, and Techno. Hosting talent earlier this year such as Green Velvet, Maceo Plex and Duke Dumont. Fitzpatrick, with trademark tough, hooky grooves and incendiary beats molded with cerebral moments of emotive melody continues the succession of remarkable acts coming through Seattle.
The 2016 fabric 87 tour promotes Fitzpatrick’s latest release by Fabric Nightclub in London. He describes the intention of his one-take mix as something that “…had a timeless quality about it and that contained tracks that people were not very familiar with already.” And adds, “Crucial to achieving this were the special edits that feature in the mix, as well as the exclusive and unreleased material that I was able to include which I hope everyone enjoys listening to.” He will have three hours to play this Thursday at Q. Pushing the limits and telling a story through sound, this legendary audio architect shouldn’t be missed. Get ready dance your face off Seattle.
