After rocking NYE in Vancouver, the wizard of the West Coast is making his annual trip to Victoria this Friday, April 15th at Sugar, complete with over 10 projectors armed with some eye candy from RimVisuals! Although originally hailing from a cave on the moon, the mad producer from Vancouver has been taking over dance floors around the PNW for the better half of a decade. The epitome of what live PA is all about, LWSD defines the role of performance artist like nobody else in the business.
A literal King of Kings, the man known as Dave King takes on the challenge of performing live and making constant interaction with the crowd. While an enthusiastic stage presence is the driving force behind any good show, LWSD takes that to an entire different level. Destructive, chaotic, and exceedingly addictive; describing a LWSD show to someone who’s never seen one live is like trying to have a conversation with a corn field – it’s just going to fall on deaf ears.
During his last visit to the Island, LWSD was fresh off the release of his latest album Squishing Machine, and this time around he’s loaded up the bass cannons with another round of fresh material. Featuring “tons of new tunes, and many experiments in new directions,” we’re likely to witness a side of LWSD that we’ve rarely had the chance to experience before – a side of drum & bass!!
Advance tickets for this Friday are on sale now at Lyle’s Place or online. There may be a very limited amount of tickets at the door, but if you don’t want to run the risk of selling out then we suggest you get yours before they’re gone!
