Nearly a year after their debut album release, Abandon Ship, Australian duo Knife Party have released their highly anticipated 4th EP. After hinting at new music earlier this year via Twitter, followed by their latest Diplo and Friends mix released November 1st, the wait is finally over. Trigger Warning includes 4 tracks that fans will have on repeat well into the new year. As if the group wasn’t already capable of producing one successful release after another, they’ve collaborated with Tom Staar on the track Kraken, while Producer/DJ Jauz caps off the EP with a remix of PLUR Police.
Originally finding fame with legendary drum and bass group Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen have been at the hilt of Knife Party since 2011, when the group decided to create the side project. The idea behind the project originally came from a visible shift within the industry, and the rise of electronic dance music into the mainstream. Ironically enough, Knife Party then found themselves in the mainstream, having played nearly every major festival across the globe.
As if the fresh EP release wasn’t an early holiday gift enough, the group made a brief appearance on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show and granted a tantalizing glimpse into the future. Zane began with a quick question regarding the EP, but took little time to shift into what many Pendulum fans beg to hear. When asked if they were able to officially use the term “former” members of the group Pendulum, they didn’t give much detail. [pullquote align=”right”]”…ehhh, I wouldn’t say that just yet.”[/pullquote] We can only hope that 2016 will include the triumphant return of the D&B master, but for now we’ll just have to keep praying the the dance music gods. You can listen to the full interview on Knife Party’s official Soundcloud.
We couldn’t be more happy with the fresh tracks and hope this, in combination with their interview means bigger things are in store for 2016. Let us know what you think about Knife Party’s latest release by replying to us on Twitter or by leaving a comment on Facebook.
