October is absolutely flying by so far, and every day we get closer and closer to USC Events’ two-day sinister circus celebration — FreakNight! Even if you’re a low-maintenance raver, there’s still some preparation and planning to be done to ensure you have the best (and safest) time. In addition to getting your team mobilized and making some kandi to trade, we have a few suggestions for you. Here is the official DMNW FreakNight Preparation Checklist!
[divider]Place To Sleep[/divider]
If you plan on attending both days of the festival, or don’t live nearby, you’ll want to make sure you have a place to sleep after the event. If you don’t have friends to stay with in the area, we recommend finding the nearest hotel. If you haven’t booked one already the ones closest to the venue are most likely booked solid, but you can probably find one a cheap cab ride’s distance away.

[divider]A Safe Ride[/divider]
Speaking of cabs (or Lyfts, Ubers, or whatever you use), please get a ride safely back to your desination; do not drive under the influence of anything after the event. Our goal as a community is always to be as safe as possible, so please make good decisions! In addition to you driving, a friend driving, cabs, Lyfts, or Ubers, shuttles will be available from Seattle and Tacoma. USC has also partnered with Sharethebus to offer affordable bus tickets from various cities to get you to Tacoma on Friday and to take you back on Saturday or Sunday morning.

Now you can’t just go walking into FreakNight in shorts and a t-shirt, unless that’s your costume. Well actually you can, but please don’t because that’s lame. There are tons of easy costumes that you can throw together and look awesome in. Should you end up creating something really amazing maybe you can enter (and win) the costume contest sponsored by Champion. Prizes include everything from a FreakNight t-shirt to a check for $2015! Dressing up doesn’t sound so silly anymore, does it?

As always, lockers will be available and a limited quantity are available with charge stations inside. If you’re more of the hang-on-to-your-stuff type, be sure that your bag fits regulations for the event. Per the Rules & Safety section, bags must be clear and no bigger than 12 x 12 x 6 inches. We’ve found a few options for you if you’d like to order one off the internet. Otherwise, USC brand clear backpacks will be available for sale at the USC merchandise booth inside the venue.

In the weeks, days, and hours leading up to FreakNight, make sure that you’re taking good care of your body. Make sure that you’re feeding yourself nutritious food and hydrating.
