Up here in the Northwest, the most talked about festivals in the middle summer months are easily Paradiso, What the Festival, and EDC Las Vegas. It makes sense too. Among the three we have the marquee event of the year for Washington ravers, a vibed-out eclectic experience down in Oregon, and the biggest festival in the country just a few states away. Lost in the shuffle though was Blueprint Events’ FVDED in the Park, taking place up in Surrey, BC over 4th of July weekend.
With nothing but American flag shorts, backpacks, and a tenuous grasp on navigation north of the border, we made the journey to see just what the FVDED was all about. Was it unpatriotic of us to spend America’s birthday in a foreign country headlined by a Canadian DJ in deadmau5? Possibly, but all patriotism aside, it was refreshing break from the norm that featured some incredible performances in the middle of a gorgeous city. Making the journey was our intrepid executive team, composed of CEO Glen, our Editor-in-Chief Nick, and our CFO Ted. Together, they brought back stories of a festival weekend that pleasantly surprised all involved.
