Finally, the week of Electric Daisy Carnival – Las Vegas 2015 is upon us. EDC is the heart of festival season for ravers throughout North America, and the magical experiences that thousands will have this weekend is the envy of millions. A big portion of those life-long memories are thanks to the incredible assortment of artists that Insomniac Events is consistently able to book for their premier festival. Much like Ultra Music Festival, Shambhala Music Festival, and more, tickets to EDC are safely purchased in advance of the full lineup release. Annually one of the best of the year, EDC is used to bringing out the best of the best, and this year is no different.
EDC is a different world, and offers so much that, even over the course of three days, it’s easy to miss a few things. The sheer size of EDC makes careful planning a necessity, with seemingly countless artists at several stages and tens of thousands of friends to navigate through, it can become a bit of a hassle. Of course, many will be making the easy decision to flock to the main stage for performances from the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Gaia, Bassnectar, Eric Prydz, and the rest of the major names at EDC. But missing out on what lies beyond is a vital mistake for anyone attending this summer.
There’s plenty to see at EDC, and there’s always opinions on who to see and why. With a festival as massive as EDC, we decided to break down our group of must-see artists at EDC slightly differently, with a focus on those of us in the Northwest. Many Northwest-ravers attempt to fit EDC into their festival season schedules each summer, with some even taking on the vaunted EDC – Paradiso double. We’re lucky to have a steady supply of fantastic festivals, shows, and local artists to keep us plenty happy in the Northwest, but there’s nothing quite like EDC.
So, we delved deeper into the EDC 2015 lineup to find the artists that Northwest ravers should be considering adding to their plans this weekend. We excluded artists who are performing at Paradiso, What The Festival!?, Shambhala, Capitol Hill Block Party, or Bumbershoot this summer, with goal being to catch acts that those of us in the Northwest would otherwise be unable to see. A well-rounded group of up-and-coming artists, rare treats, and overall awesome acts from a variety of genres, adding these 10 artists to your must-see list will undoubtedly improve your EDC 2015 experience.
For those unable to make it to EDC, there is some solace, as the festival will again be partially live-streamed throughout the weekend. It will be streamed via Yahoo! Live and begins at 8:30 p.m. PT on Friday, June 19th.
