A large portion of the Dance Music Northwest family will be making the trek across America’s northern border this summer, in order to attend Shambhala Music Festival. The 18th annual edition of the festival will be taking place at its home at the Salmo River Ranch in British Columbia, and we couldn’t be more excited. Taking place August 7th – 10th and featuring a ludicrous lineup of fan-favorites (Skrillex, Pretty Lights, Excision, and GRiZ barely scratch the surface), Shambhala is one of the Northwest’s premier summer festivals. But, it’s also one of the most unique, providing an atmosphere and venue unlike any other in our region.
Thousands will be travelling from all around the world, and with that comes the all-important creation of the playlist. Of course, playlists can be edited and touched up along the way, but ultimately, it’s the initial monster you build that you’ll be sorting through and enjoying on your journey. While many aspects of preparing for festival attendance are important, nothing may be more undervalued than a solid playlist. A mood-fixer, excitement-builder, and all-around bonding tool, the playlist you create will be the soundtrack to your festival memories.
We’ve already created one Shambhala playlist, but with a lineup like this, one just isn’t enough. So, we made another. This one features tunes, remixes, mixes, and more from the artists who were featured on the lower-half of the Shambhala headliner announcement. Shining some light on some of the lesser-known artists at Shambhala this summer, Part II of our playlist series features tunes from some of the acts we’re most excited to see. From G Jones and Ganz to Shiba San and Stickybuds, we have you covered.
