We’ve made it no secret that we love Shambhala Music Festival here at Dance Music Northwest. In our inaugural trip up north to Salmo River Ranch last August, we experienced something beyond anything we possibly could have hoped for. The vibes were easygoing, the music was unparalleled, and we feel 100% comfortable saying that anyone who loves music needs to journey up to The Farm at least once in their life. But for anyone feeling impatient, Lightning in a Bottle is here to help.
Their lineup dropped just the other day, and while it’s light on your typical festival headliners, it’s jam-packed full of talent. Gracing this year’s bill are Flume, RL Grime, GRiZ, Thomas Jack, and of course everyone’s favorite locals ODESZA. There’s an expanse of other acts that take the average festivalgoer far outside their comfort zone, something we need far more of in the age of commercialized EDM culture.
LIB goes far beyond simply the music though, boasting a gold mine of other features that make it Shambhala’s spiritual sibling down south in California.
Lightning in a Bottle is also known for its mesmerizing stage designs, stellar performance art and one-of-a-kind art installations alongside opportunities to engage with yoga and dance classes, motivational speakers, and health-conscious workshops.
Spanning five days at the San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, CA, it’s a place that you can truly call home during your Memorial Day weekend. Learn more at their main site here, grab your tickets now (currently at $260 a pop, almost $100 less than Sasquatch), and follow LIB on Facebook for updates as they come! Trust us, this is not something you’ll want to miss.
