If the beginning of this year is any indication, we are in for one hell of a ride for festival season. Earlier this year California’s infamous Coachella sold out in just 20 minutes, and now all of the GA tickets for the famed Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas have sold out. Scalpers are of course going to have a field day with this one.
VIP tickets are still available for EDC, so at this point unless you want to deal with scalpers it really is “go big or go home” to the tune of about $750 once fees are factored in. This of course doesn’t take into account flights or already jacked up hotel room rates, so in the blink of an eye you could easily spend $1500 on the long weekend.
What’s the craziest part about all of this? We still don’t have a lineup yet for EDC Vegas. All of the headliners who bought tickets did so without knowing a single artist who will be there. EDC lives off of its reputation of being just as much if not more about the experience than the artists, which is saying a lot. As almost all EDM fans know EDC brings the best of both established and up and coming artists, and those artists bring their A-game with the sets they play for the fans who make their pilgrimage to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
What’s your take on this? Do you already have your EDC tickets, or were you caught off guard by the quick sell out?
