We know, we know, you’re probably not all that interested in a film involving Daft Punk and the movement that brought them their fame—it’s not as though the entire northwest has been begging for any and all possible connections to the duo since their last visit in 2007. But, until the glorious day that they finally return, you can at least take some comfort in an upcoming flick centered on the French House revolution of the 90’s. Directed by Mia Hansen-Løve, and adapted from a screenplay detailing her brother’s tumultuous DJ career, Eden promises a deeply gripping, human, and emotional tale.
While the portrayal of an early Daft Punk may not be depicted significantly onscreen, their presence in the piece is by no means insubstantial. In addition, they even provided Hansen-Løve the rights to three of their songs for use in the film at minimal cost, so the soundtrack should be stellar as well. We’re eager to get an insight into the French House scene that provided the soundtrack for many of our early years, and are impatiently awaiting the release of Eden this summer.
