Fellow Group Therapy patients, we have amazing news. We’ve previously been teased with a few singles that we’ve been enjoying for a while, such as Sticky Fingers and All Over The World, and of course, the title track. A few weeks back, a preview was posted to SoundCloud that had us even more excited for the album. As we had hoped, the album is available to stream before the official January 19th release date.
The album is currently exclusively available through iTunes Radio, which has the unfortunate side effect of advertisements. They constantly distract from the experience of listening to an album for the first time all the way through . With that being said, we’re still thrilled to get to listen to it in its entirety. In addition to the released singles, our humble opinion includes standouts such as Little Something, featuring the vocals of the lovely Justine Suissa and Peace of Mind, featuring our beloved Zoë Johnston. Both women have hauntingly beautiful vocals that lend themselves well to the tracks created by the guys.
The album takes us on a journey that sometimes lifts us up and makes us long for beautiful summer days at the Gorge (hello Blue Sky Action) and at times takes us on a more introspective approach. Needless to say, it’s a lot of what we love about Above and Beyond. That’s not to say this is their best album ever, this writer firmly believes that honor goes to Group Therapy, but this is another solid effort by Jono, Paavo and Tony.
We look forward to seeing you when the We Are All We Need Tour makes its way through the US. If you haven’t bought tickets yet for Above and Beyond’s North American tour, act fast as some tour stops have already sold out. The album is available for sale online and in stores on January 19th and we can’t wait to listen to it uninterrupted when it drops.
