Imagine you were frolicking through a flowering meadow in a warm summer-like haze, lost in a dream-state where anything was possible. The sky is wet, and it’s dripping in hues of purple, orange, blue and yellow. As you continue to explore this space, there are tall blades of grass licking your skin, coming to life and serenading you in synth arpeggios as your fingertips graze them. You find yourself surrounded by bubbles floating lazily about, making tambourine splashes in the air as they pop. Sounds pretty f*cking miraculous, amirite?
We swear we haven’t lost it okay, we’re just totally besotted ATM.
Just take a listen to Manatee Commune’s dreamy remix of The Kooks’ Bad Habit (covered by Susy Sun), and only then will you understand where all of this miraculous jargon came from. Once we hit play on his latest remix on Soundcloud, we let SC run wild (see above paragraph) and let his entire repertoire play until we can start all over again. Mind you, his Bad Habit cover remix has been out for a mere 24 hours and we’ve repeated his entire SC three times; we blame the beauty of his viola. Not far off from the likes of Odesza, Manatee Commune has been maturing this dreampop-chillwave sound of his and it’s a tapestry of textures we want to be wrapped up in. Take a listen and tell us – where does your imagination take you?
