DJ Plez Jonez is sending us some warm holiday cheer, East Coast-style. Who is DJ Plez Jonez? Well, it’s time you get familiar. Growing up amid the rising underground dance music scene in the DC area, Plez is still groovin’ today, fusing together old-school dance grooves with modern day technology for some hot tunes to warm your coldest winter months. He is also responsible for some intensely feel-good mixes, including his Pleasure Cast Winter 14 Mix below, full of UK, deep house and throwback hits.
– click here for track listing –Developing his musical career during the rise of electronic music in D.C., Plez Jonez made quite a name for himself back home, giving his Pittsburgh friends and family a heavy dose of underground electronic he discovered in the Capitol city. Learning as much as he could from house music legends like
Basement Boys and Crystal Waters (who is
the legend behind this awesome 90s throwback), Plez Jonez started to create his own mixtapes and remixes of his favorite tracks, and his unique spin and dedication landed him a performance at the 2005
Winter Music Conference.

originals and remixes have a care-free, loose vibe no matter the genre. His older originals like
Rainy Dayz is a tranqil, jazz-infused downtempo groove, and appropriately named. His most recent production is a brand new remix of, coincidentally enough, a
Crystal Waters and StoneBridge original, Be Kind. Plez takes a Chicago-style underground approach to the house hit, changing up the mood to a more relaxed, dreamscape feel. Plez is one of the few to keep the underground dance music scene heard, and we eagerly await more of his nostalgic mixes and old-school-meets-new originals and remixes.
