[divider]Introduction[/divider]
There are tons of great acts and artists within the realm of dance music, and that number seems to be growing every day. In our corner of the country we’re blessed not only with quality local talent, but with an atmosphere that tends to attract all types of artists. There are venues of all shapes and sizes, spanning from the buzzing local club scene, to the almighty Gorge Amphitheater, and everything in between. There are adoring fans of all genres and shows taking place year-round. There are block parties, compounds, festivals, and more.
Despite the wealth of opportunities and accommodations, several major artists have decided to take an extended leave of absence from the Northwest. Of course, there are numerous reasons for these gaps in touring and this is the dance music scene’s version of a ‘first world problem’. There are only so many days in a year and, especially with major artists, the demand is such that some parts of the world will just have to wait for their artist of choice to swing through town.
That’s all understandable and part of the industry, but we’ve had enough. So we came up with a few major artists who need to return to the Northwest. Not “need” in an economic sense, or in order to benefit the local scene. This need is purely fueled by the child in all of us screaming ‘I WANT’, loudly and repeatedly. We’ve got great cities, great people, great venues, great food, and more. So, what’s the hold-up?
