Zac Efron Is Learning How To DJ From Alesso. Really.

Earlier this year we reported that Zac Efron, of High School Musical fame, has been tapped to play an aspiring DJ in an upcoming movie. That movie is entitled We Are Your Friends, and in order to convince us (at least on film) that he knows what he’s doing, he’s been taken under the wing of Alesso. Alesso certainly knows a thing or two about setting a crowd on fire, as evidenced by his smash hit remix of OneRepublic’s If I Lose Myself and hit current track Heroes (We Could Be). 

It remains to be seen what the fate of this movie will be, but it certainly follows the tried and true formula of having a hot Hollywood star playing a struggling musician fighting to climb the ranks to rock stardom. The current rock stars of our era are DJs, and there we have our movie. This has been a good year for EDM on the silver screen, after all, the documentary about our beloved EDC, Under The Electric Sky, has seen great success in theaters and on Netflix. Take a look at the video of Zac’s DJ lessons and let us know what you think.
