Toronto-based producer/DJ Hunter Siegel has released a free download of his debut appearance on the Power Tools mix-show from August 9th. The mix is yet another release for Siegel, who has had a busy 2014. After ending 2013 touring with Adventure Club, DVBBS, and DallasK, the apathetic king of #DarkPLUR went to work in the studio and the results are a refined and distinct sound he calls ‘retro-future’. Showcasing just what ‘retro-future’ is, Siegel dropped his debut original track Waiting Up in May (as a free download), and hasn’t looked back.
Siegel has also collaborated with fellow Canadians Zeds Dead for the ultimate festival anthem LOUD! and remixed Galantis’ Friends (Hard Times) this summer. This brought further attention, as well as featuring in mixes and sets from the likes of Oliver Heldens, Tchami, and more. He’s also played alongside Adventure Club and Tchami this summer and is slated to perform at Orlando’s Independence Music Festival on August 23rd.
The Power Tools mix is the first for Siegel since Selected. asked him to feature on their 30-minute celebratory ‘100K subscribers’ mix. The mix contains six Siegel-influenced tracks, including a debut for his collab with Wax Motif, entitled On It (All Night). You can check out the full Power Tools show from August 9th here.
