A live streaming service known as Twitch.tv has been a very popular website among videogamers from around the world, allowing the users to stream game play from their games for everyone to tune in and enjoy. Twitch.tv was launched back in June of 2011 and was just recently bought out by Google for a whopping $1 billion! While the main purpose of this live streaming service was designed for avid videogamers, it appears Twitch may be opening up some new doors.
When Steve Aoki prepared his world famous Aoki’s Playhouse performance at Pacha Ibiza, he had a pleasant surprise in store for everyone who couldn’t make it live. Steve Aoki and Twitch.tv partnered up and successfully live streamed the entire legendary performance of Aoki’s Playhouse. Will this be something we continue to see in the future? With Google now having ownership over Twitch.tv, streams like this one could very well become a common occurrence. One can only hope!
