In the latest addition of his podcast ‘Le7els’, released July 4th, dance music superstar Avicii gives a ton of new news and info on what he’s been up to recently, even hinting at details of a possible next album. Avicii, also known as Tim Bergling, will have many eyes (and ears) focused on him, following his massively successful debut studio album True. The album launched Avicii into the mainstream spotlight and everyone will be following what he does next, and nobody seems more aware of that fact than the man himself.
“I’ve done the best music I’ve ever done by far, and I’m really excited to see what’s going to happen… It’s like True on steroids. If True was me kind of starting to experiment with different genres, this is when I start getting the hang of it.”
The 25th edition of ‘Le7els’ is about an hour long and is a great listen purely for the tunes included. But the nuggets of new info are appreciated as well. He’s been spending almost 12 hours a day in the studio and hinted at collaborations with other artists for an upcoming album, Avicii said.
“I’ve also gotten to work with some of these people who are extremely talented. Some of the collaborators are going to be Billie Joe from Green Day, I’m doing a track also with Chris Martin, and I did two songs with AlunaGeorge. Such a learning experience for me.”
Fans of the Swedish producer shouldn’t fret though. He isn’t forgetting his sound, and is still going to be ‘Avicii,’ with the same sort of melody-driven electronic music that he’s always done, Bergling said. The only difference now, is that he’s more experimental with genres.
“It’s been some of the best months of my life and I have so much new material. I think I have somewhere around 60-70 demos, so there’s going to be a lot of nitpicking. The hardest part hasn’t been making the music, but choosing what’s going to be on the record and what’s not going to be on the record.”
