[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]very once in a while, you get that rare breed of producers who have a distant experimental style that not many others can replicate. Meet Derwin Sheckler, also known as Gold Panda. With roughly 5 years of touring obscure places and festivals all around the world, the sounds of Gold Panda are now even more experimental, layered, and detailed than ever before. Among the many strange things Gold Panda has done in the past, we truly never know what he’s going to pull inspiration from for his music. Gold Panda isn’t about big powerful bass or drops nearly as much as the average EDM producer. There is nothing wrong with that school of thought, but Gold Panda just chooses to do things a bit differently – and we are perfectly fine with that.
Gold Panda will be taking his experimental chillwave sounds to Neumos on Thursday, August 7th. Advanced tickets are $17 plus fees.
If you are looking for something a bit larger, Neumos is hosting a stage at this year’s Capitol Hill Block Party once again, taking place July 25-27 in the streets of Capitol Hill.
