It’s a delicate subject – whether you do or don’t use drugs at shows, it’s a topic that many tend to wonder about, but are too afraid to ask. So how many people actually use at EDM events? Which substances are considered “club drugs?” “Does security really care?”
Below are the results of an anonymous survey on EDM and the drug culture associated with it. It is based on a UK study so some of the questions are geared towards the UK, but a large majority of the answers are from the US.
A surprisingly large number of people have used “club drugs” at EDM shows which raises the question: Are drugs an essential force in EDM culture? Can EDM be enjoyed without drugs like Molly, MDMA, and Cocaine?

MDMA is almost becoming more popular than alcohol at most EDM events.
