Californian producer Deorro, also known as Erick Orrosquiesta, has decided to take a break from a portion of his increasingly successful career as a producer and DJ. Formerly known as TON!C, Deorro tweeted last weekend that he would quit DJing and gave a list of reasons as to why.
I just want you to know that I'm actually going to quit djing.

An active user of social media and one of many artists in dance music to use the outlet for situations as this, Deorro gave a heartfelt explanation of his decision. He listed several reasons on his account, which you can see here.
I promise, if I can pull off a panda funk tour, I will come back on the road. But I gotta help the need first. Cuz it's all about new talent

The core of the decision is based off of missing out on family time. In addition to taking away from family time, touring has made it difficult to produce music, Deorro tweeted. He also pointed out that he doesn’t enjoy being the center of attention, and that the time commitment of touring is taking away from his ability to help others who are ‘chasing the dream’.
I'm still gonna do the shows I'm booked for guys, I'm not canceling anything. Last shows I know of are in December.

If you’re looking forward or would like to see Deorro spin live before his hiatus, you still have some chances. He tweeted that he had bookings through December which he would honor and has dates through the month of June announced on his Facebook page (including an interesting venue on the 27th of June). Deorro added that he will continue to be active on social media and will continue to release new music.
