Oh goodness, where do we begin with our excitement for this? Pretty Lights just announced two nights later this summer, August 8th and 9th, where he will be joined at Red Rocks by the Colorado Symphony. Pretty Lights at Red Rocks in Colorado already makes for an incredible auditory and visual experience, but adding the Colorado Symphony into the equation will be nothing short of life-changing. The storied venue is said to be one on par with our beloved Gorge here in Washington in terms of both scenery and sound quality. Hearing the beats echo off the giant rock formations while experiencing a glorious Colorado sunset sends shivers down our collective spines as we imagine the full sensory experience.
At DMNW we are no strangers to Pretty Lights. A gorgeous EP was released for the most recent Record Store Day that we thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to hearing live. When Derek brought the full band out to Seattle last fall with Odesza it was an eye-opening experience to say the least. The live band brought a new depth to the typical Pretty Lights set, so we can only imagine how that would be magnified when accompanied by the Colorado Symphony. This is a show with all the makings of that rare, euphoric concert experience that you regret missing out on when all your friends come back to tell about it. With the Paradiso lineup still a mystery, this may be one of the only chances to see Pretty Lights in a premier outdoor venue. We may be up in the Northwest, but this is an epic show that would be worthy of a road trip. Anyone up for an adventure?
