Red Cube’s Saturday Night House Sessions were in full swing last night, with a late arriving crowd on a wet Saturday night that was soon followed by waves of people coming through The Whiskey Bar’s front doors. With the anticipation of seeing the headliner DJ Dan the older “raver” crowd was called out of retirement. Local Ruban Sarafinchan got the night rolling when the doors opened at 10pm. With House music planned for night the crowd began to fill the 2 bars and dance floor, some even standing back and enjoying the visuals coming from the stage. Following Ruban Sarafinchan’s set local Evan Alexander took over the stage and crowd midway through the night. With great service at the bar and great beats coming from a packed dance floor, you could tell the night was shaping up to be a special one.
Headliner DJ Dan then took over at 12:30 and didn’t disappoint. The House Legend who has been around before the term “EDM” was even mentioned started the night off right with a big round of applause before he even played a track. The Olympia, Washington native looked real comfortable being back in NW, even hanging out by the side of the stage before going on, meeting with new and old friends! Taking control after Evan Alexander’s set, DJ Dan took off with the night, everyone dancing for the full 90 minute set or until you could barely stand. What an experience seeing the legend in action, with a awesome sound system, great lighting, great tunes, and great crowd from Portland, last night was truly amazing. Hearing some of his old tunes and new it’s always special to see a legend like DJ Dan. https://soundcloud.com/djdanmusic
