Honestly it’s been ages since any of us have thought MTV is cool. We frequently reminisce of the days where Beavis and Butthead would air more times than how many fingers we have on two hands. We miss the days of being confused from watching insanely creative TOOL music videos non stop and in between our thoughts, walking to 711 to pick up a slurpee and a bag of funyuns. Those were the days for some of us but fortunately (actually unfortunately) MTV has caught on to the commercialism of electronic music and has plans to clear their entire white board for it. Their first step to taking over electronic music (like Sky-net did with the world) is to premiere Flosstradamus’s remix of “United Kids Of The World“.
There’s Trap music and then there is Flosstradamus. Their strong ability to take Trap music beyond the generic 512 bars of your typical 808 snare and flat sub bass already puts them ahead of the game. What was bound to be an exciting collaboration between Hardstyle’s “GOLDEN CHILD” and some of EDM’s biggest partiers – Krewella – to some was a huge let down but amazing to others. That is the great thing about remixes, our favorite artists have the opportunity to take something we’re disappointed in and turn it into something we love. Chicago’s dueling hoodie boyz continue their rampage from their insane Ultra Music Festival 2014 set to an MTV premiered set smasher and they have no plans of slowing down. Now it’s time for you to press play and turn up.
