It’s the month of March and by now most people in the Pacific Northwest are tired of the dreary weather and in need of a vacation. If you are one of those people, you’re in luck. Shpongle is taking over Portland and you are invited on the mystical journey to the world of Shpongleland, a place created uniquely for you.
Shpongle, a duo made up of Simon Posford and Raja Ram, was formed back in 1996 and has opened doors to a whole new genre of music. Psychedelic electronica, ambient, and world music combine to create Psybient. In their seventeen years of work, Shpongle has released three EPs and five full studio albums. The latest being Museum of Consciousness (July 29th, 2013), and the inspiration for their latest tour.

The Museum on Consciousness tour is something incredible and a true work of art. Shpongle has been hard at work with Zebbler Studios to bring you a one of a kind, 21 foot wide structure known as the Shpongletron 3.0. This structure has many different features and elements, one of which being mirrors. The idea behind the mirrors is for the audience to be able to see themselves in the crowd while also reflecting lights off of each other, creating fascinating visual effects.
