We’ve heard bits and pieces of Above & Beyond’s gorgeously stripped-down album Acoustic, and now it’s been unveiled to the masses early on Spotify. While we haven’t had a chance to completely absorb it yet ourselves, so far it’s an album that will have you sobbing at your desk.
Consider yourself warned: If you’re in a public place be prepared to be a weeping mess for the next hour or two. Group Therapy alone is a transcendent experience. Add in strings, vocals, and the classic Above & Beyond sound and we get an acoustic journey through a spectacularly emotional soundscape.
Take in the whole experience over here (you’ll have to sign up for a free Spotify account), and keep an eye out on January 28th for the full release on CD, digital download, as well as a “Limited Edition Photographic Book.”
UPDATE: It appears that a vast majority of the album has been removed from Spotify. Searches reveal only Sun & Moon, Love Is Not Enough, and the single version of Thing Called Love. Rumor has it that the release came too early, and was originally intended to be launched next week – following the world video premiere on THUMP.
