The long-awaited collaboration between Datsik and Bar9 is upon us. These three producers collide hard, creating a massive wave that is Droid. The shortwave commentary in this track gives it an early dubstep feel, but still contains newer elements from both artists as well. Let’s be honest though, it’s not the intro, narration, nor hooks we flock to, but the drops, and this track has two that are very different from each other. The first drop is fast paced, high-pitched synths stab our ears as the low dub wobble shakes our core. Now, the second drop is much slower, with heavy synths, and longer, more prominent bass segments.
It’s hard to say whether either of these lean more towards one artist to another, but one thing is for sure, this new heavy hitting dub-filled track will please bass-heads everywhere. There’s one more notable part to this song though. The synth array that builds before the second drop is definitely new, and oh so entrancing, and then BOOM, bass.
