Apashe‘s splendid Black Mythology EP is available for streaming and purchase. Kannibalen Records is overseeing the EPs release, which makes Black Mythology Apashe’s fourth EP release with the label. After a first listen it’s clear Apashe is using this release to elevate EDM street credibility. The funk influences used to inspire his last EP are nowhere in sight on this EP. So-long! Goodbye.
Instead, Black Mythology is focused on sharing dirty electronic bass material with a worldwide audience. Black Gold is the best example of this. The track is a perfect storm of trap and dubstep that summons a crushing dance floor hit that would be something awesome to witness live. Black Mythology’s second track is a collaboration between Apashe, Dabin, Kai Wachi which is titled Forsaken. The song features vocals from Ariane Zita and is an overal talent showcase for each of the DJs respective styles. The beginning of Forsaken is glitch/stomp-hop with great production. Towards the end, the song gets thrusted into overdrive! Blasting dubstep crunches that have the ability to decimate whole buildings work together with soft spoken piano melodies. Its euphoric pleasure provides a peaceful oasis for any listener. Black Mythology EP is available for purchase on Beatport.
