Kele Okereke is the well-known lead singer of the award-winning band Bloc Party, but ever since the group’s indefinite hiatus Kele has been showcasing his talents as a DJ/Producer. Crosstown Rebels will be putting out Kele Okereke’s Heartbreaker EP, further displaying his DJ abilities. Two of the four tracks from Kele’s upcoming EP have already been released.
The self-titled track is a fun house jam and features warped vocals from Bobbie Gordon. The second song on the EP is called God Has A Way. The track also features guest vocals and houses a pushing rhythm. According to the Crosstown Rebel’s Soundcloud page, Heartbreaker is meant to continue “the dance-floor trajectory [Kele] introduced on aforementioned ‘The Boxer’ and ‘The Hunter’ EP’s.” The Heartbreaker EP will be available on vinyl on November 25th and available on Beatport in December.
