Dipping its toes into the Seattle electronic music scene, Magnuson Hangar 30 will host Tchami on Saturday, April 8, courtesy of White Rabbit Group. As a venue that regularly hosts a wide variety of events, this will be its first time hosting an artist like Tchami. We are thrilled to see the artist at Seattle’s second-largest park, Magnuson Park, for what’s expected to be a beautiful show.
Introducing Magnuson Hangar 30 to EDM fans
The land where Magnuson Park resides once belonged to the U.S. Military, which used the space as a home for a Naval Air Base on Lake Washington. Once upon a time, the park housed a facility that was named the Naval Air Station Sand Point.
After the Navy concluded its air station use there in 1970, the land was given back to the City of Seattle and it became Sand Point Park by 1975. Just a short time after that, it was formally renamed Magnuson Park in honor of Seattle-native US Senator Warren Magnuson.
Today the park is home to a number of different amenities, including several sports fields, picnic and swimming areas, and even a stunning public art installation that uses old dive fins from the former US Navy submarines that used to reside there long ago. If you’re planning on attending Tchami’s set on the 8th, get to this venue early and check out all of its local and historical beauty!
The Magnuson Hangar 30 is a structural addition to the park, with a capacity of a little over 1,000. It is located in the northwest corner of the park, just north of the tennis center. There are restrooms located inside the building. The Hangar has been home to recurring flea markets, private rentals, and of course, concerts. As the first dance music-centric concert held at this venue, we will be excited to see how the infrastructure of the building allows for a great time.
Tchami in Seattle
We’ve seen the French artist fairly regularly in the Seattle scene over the last few years, and couldn’t be more excited to have him back for another headliner show. It wasn’t long ago that we were groovin’ to Tchami’s unique house style, as he was one of Boo ’22’s core headliners, closing out the house stage on night one.
Tchami is coming to us only shortly after his momentous performances at Ultra Music Festival. His Confessions label hosted a number of different events and sets throughout Miami Music Week, closing it off with a Tchami b2b Oliver Heldens set on Ultra’s main stage. If you’re unfamiliar with his sound, this set doesn’t get much better.
Additional shows: Red Rocks, a church, the Caverns
In addition to the upcoming Seattle show, Tchami has a number of cool venues secured for events across the country. The night before he plays in Seattle, he’ll be taking over Red Rocks with Capozzi, Noizu and Disco Lines.
After he pays us a visit, he is off to Chicago for his first ever show inside of an actual church. If you’re familiar with Tchami’s stage presence, then you’ll recognize his regular religious garb and stained-glass church window themed visuals. Tchami will make history throwing a sold-out rave inside of Chicago’s Fourth Presbyterian Church on April 13.
A church isn’t all Tchami has in store as we approach the summer season. In June, he will venture out to Tennessee for a show inside the Caverns. With all of the projects Tchami has been killing it with recently, this show is sure to be one for the ages. There’s still tickets available for this show, so if you’re anywhere near Tennessee on June 9, don’t miss out on this one!
After watching the Ultra livestream, we can’t contain our anticipation for the 8th! Remaining tickets are going fast, so grab ’em here before they’re gone.
