Throughout dance music history, there have been several masked DJs. Acts like Deadmau5, Bear Grillz, and FuntCase all include a stage persona wearing a mask or helmet of some sort. However, none have been as mysterious or as dedicated to their anonymity as Deathpact. The phantom DJ sports an LED face mask and hoodie to hide their identity from the public. In responses to fans online, they refer to themself as a collective “we” and when asked who they are, they respond with the name of whoever is asking.
Deathpact has performed at several Pacific Northwest festivals, including Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge and Shambhala. Now, the mystery musician has announced a headlining tour and will be performing in the PNW for one night only. Deathpact will be appearing in Seattle on April 29th at the Showbox with support from A Hundred Drums.
This mystery person (or people) started the project in 2018, coming hot out of the gate with their first track Danger and first EP Cipher One. Their popularity quickly took off after their incredible collaboration with Rezz, titled Life and Death. Their enormous sounds and skilled live mixing make for a very memorable experience. With a seamless blend of smooth downtempo styles and epic compositions, you will not want to miss this opportunity.
Just this week, Deathpact released the fourth and possibly final release of their Midheaven: Opus series. This, along with their constantly expanding repertoire of music will surely keep your feet moving and your jaw on the floor. And who knows: you might even unravel the mystery behind the question, who is Deathpact?
