The third headliner has been announced for the 24th annual Shambhala Music Festival and it’s none other than iconic Canadian duo ZEDS DEAD. The Toronto duo is a DMNW favourite comprised of Dylan Mamid (aka DC) and Zachary Rapp-Rovan (aka (Hooks). Their music style is a diverse blend of genres ranging from dubstep, drum and bass to house and downtempo.
The duo launched its first record label “Deadbeats” in 2016 and released a track Back Home feat Freddie Gibbs. Back in 2021, they announced that they were launching an additional record label dubbed “Altered States.” The label announcement came with a 12 track Catching Z’s mixtape release – which was nominated for a Juno Award for “Electronic Album of the Year” in 2022.
This exciting announcement comes hot on the heels of back-to-back major headliner announcements of GRiZ and RL Grime. Shambhala Music Festival seems to be teasing us on whether the duo will be returning to The Pagoda Stage – or will they be performing on The Village Stage with a DnB set? Guess we’ll have to wait and find out in later announcements.
A fourth headliner announcement is expected to land this Wednesday, February 1, so keep an eye out for the latest from one of DMNW’s favorite festivals!
Shambhala Music Festival will take place between July 21 to July 24, 2023 at the Salmo River Ranch in British Columbia. You can purchase tickets to the music festival on their website here – act fast before they sell out.
