Hidden in plain sight in downtown San Diego is Waterfront Park. Twice a year, this urban gem becomes a paradise of melodic beats, house vibes, and brilliant smiles. Surrounded by sea and palm trees, CRSSD Festival finds itself an oasis for fresh sounds and sound-seekers alike, and they’ve dropped their Spring 2023 lineup!
With past acts such as Glass Animals, ZHU, Girrafage, and Empire Of The Sun, as well as more underground artists such as PAX and Tinlicker, and local favorites Odesza, CRSSD has a record of providing top-tier music. Featuring a softer genre than its local cousins Insomniac and Hard festivals, FNGRS CRSSD fills a more delicate niche in the SoCal festival family with CRSSD.
Rather than intense drops and hyper distressed electronics, the voicing of CRSSD festival runs more in keeping with the vibes of Above and Beyond’s Gorge Weekender. With 21+ age restriction, CRSSD invites a refined but eclectic atmosphere. The festival prides itself on being just that: a festival, not a rave.
This year, CRSSD will see artists such as Deborah De Luca, and Bedouin, as well as the return of Lane 8 and Seattle’s own ODESZA. And don’t worry about finding something to keep your interest at CRSSD, boasting three stages, this festival is sure to have something for everyone.
In keeping with festival tradition, CRSSD offers no shortage of food. Hungry at CRSSD? Venture no further than the many food stands. Sporting a variety of dining options from pizza, to gyros, to tacos, to vegan-friendly, CRSSD festivals is fully stocked for every craving. A large selection of bars feature local brews, sure to tickle the fancy of any brewery connoisseur. Just make sure you have transportation!
There’s no camping at CRSSD, so make sure you get your hotel booked early! Parking at the venue itself is also a struggle. It is downtown San Diego, after all. Fortunately, San Diego has a number of hotels, Airbnbs, and group housing options. You can look for lodging nearby here. It’s highly recommended that you find lodging close to the venue and walk, as parking can be tricky, but there are also a limited number of paid parking options. Make sure to investigate these when calculating your ticket costs.
Can’t stop, won’t stop? CRSSD Festival has afterparties into the night, for party goers who need just a little more. Entry for these usually ranges in price, depending on the scene. After party artists may surprise you. Make sure you grab a couple tickets when you’re purchasing them for the main event.
Tickets for CRSSD are now on sale for festival dates March 4-5. You can grab some here. CRSSD occurs biannually, in Spring and Fall.
