After almost four years, Svdden Death has confirmed the release of Voyd 2, the sequel to the massively popular self-titled album from his second project.
Earlier this month, Svdden Death posted a video across his social media accounts with the caption, “Follow me to the steps of the Labyrinth.” The video depicted a circle of rotating orbs, accompanied by a series of deep swelling and ominous tones. As the orbs spin faster and faster they create what resembles a red eclipse. The tones fade out and a bit-crushed voice says, “Hello this is Voyd” as the roman numeral “II” appears inside the eclipse.
Any fans of the prominent dubstep artist recognize this as the announcement for the highly anticipated sequel to the self-titled album of Svdden Death’s second project, Voyd, in which the artist dawns a spike and chain-covered jacket and his trademark animal skull.
On March 5th, he tweeted, “Dreams of silver are cuts in the mind. Here is one of many paths carved, although memory fades in most” accompanied by a link to a mini-game titled “Maze of Punishment”.
The “Doom-esque” mini-game puts you in what appears to be the first person perspective of the character “Voyd” as he traverses through a maze while being chased by grotesque 8-bit creatures.
Finally, on March 7th, Svdden Death posted the official release date of Voyd II as March 18th, shortly followed by the album cover and tracklist. The 13 track album will consist of mostly unreleased music or songs that were previously available only at his live performances.
Svdden Death and Bassrush will be throwing a release party for the album at Exchange in Los Angeles the day before its release.
