Shambhala Music Festival announced Monday that it will postponing its 2021 event, pushing the event out until next year.
In a lengthy statement published to the festival’s Facebook, Shambhala cited ongoing public health concerns, the continued closure of the U.S./Canada border for all non-essential travel, and an announcement from British Columbia’s public health officer that mad it “clear that proceeding in 2021 is not possible.”
“Like you, we are more than ready for live music to return, but there are still too many unknowns right now,” the festival’s statement reads.
Although no new tickets were sold in 2021, all existing tickets from 2020 will still be redeemable for any one of 2022, 2023, or 2024. Tickerholders and those who signed up for Lodging in 2020 “will receive an email in the coming months to register for the year you would like to attend,” and will be guaranteed the year of their choosing.
This marks the second time in as many years Shambhala has had to postpone over COVID-19 concerns.
