More ready than ever for a safe 2021 return Shambhala Music Festival has dropped some exciting news: The beloved Northwest festival is continuing their plans for The 23rd Annual Shambhala Music Festival! Given the uncertainty of live events this year, the festival will be taking place August 20-23rd.
In past years, the festival has taken place in early August. 2020 would have seen it move to early July for the first time, before COVID scuttled the year’s festival plans. In 2021, Shambhala is hoping to provide ample time for the pandemic situation to calm down.
For those missing the farm, or daily dips in the Salmo River and camping within the magical valley, rest assured this year you’ll be closer than ever (while maintaining a safe social distance). The Shambhala team spent the Summer of 2020 building a brand new 30 acre campground, that will be available for non-festival camping reservations. Announced via a Facebook post, the campground will be open as soon as this spring and the team is inviting all to visit.
Current Shambhala ticket holders can also rest assured — your 2020 ticket still remains valid for use in either 2021, 2022, or 2023. Also, the deadline to lock in a ticket to a specific year has been extended! A new deadline will be shared in 2021, and will be sure to give ticket holders plenty of time to pick a year. As for the remaining available tickets, those are set to go on sale early 2021 and likely to disappear quick.
Closer to home
Built upon a new developed parcel of the farm, Shambhala is seriously hyping up the new digs. Stated on their Facebook post they, “think it is the best camping we have ever had.”
Complete with riverfront access and beautiful old growth forests to provide shade, it sounds like a dream. The team is currently building showers and washrooms, as well as RV services.With 30 acres in total there’s plenty of safe space, giving the Family a chance to reunite in a whole new way.
For the time being, Shambhala is asking for creative help to ensure the campground is amazing. Within their announcement, the team pitched the idea of doing both farm and festival site tours.
Once, (fingers crossed!) social distancing and public health measures get lifted, Shambhala wishes to host more than just camping. In the future they plan to welcome workshops and retreats, as well as private events such as weddings or family reunions. Hoping to open as soon as May, Shambhala plans to run the campground until at least Labor Day weekend, optimistically giving them enough time and experience to hold a flawless 2021 Shambhala Music Festival!
