Dayvid Lundie-Sherman, better known as SAYMYNAME, is the man with the plan for 2020. For instance, this California native aims to release six new EPs by the end of the year!
Already we’ve been electrified by Awakening, SAYMYNAME’s first two-track EP released back in February. Now the second installation has arrived as his Elevated EP ascends into view. Reaching new levels of productional prowess Elevated raises the bar on SAYMYNAME’s versatile sound.
While you may be ready for more heavy, bass soaked beats from the godfather of hardtrap, Elevated begins on an entirely different vibe. Hence the feature of California based rapper Yung Pinch on the EP’s first track, Alright. Seamlessly blending two opposing styles SAYMYNAME produces an outright trap anthem. Using Yung Pinch’s sultry vocals to smooth the edges of this trap inspired hip hop crossover sounds so good too!
As Elevated‘s second and final track Spitfire sounds like pure hardtrap chaos. Adding gas to the flames SAYMYNAME warps bass into fiery drops with skilled precision. Definitely more of his traditional sound this track is sure to rattle both your subs and your soul! Combining theses two opposing tracks on one EP portrays SAYMYNAME’s ability to think outside the box. While one is sweet and catchy the other is savage and intense, giving us the best of both worlds.
We’re sure you’ve heard SAYMYNAME before, especially after he won Insomniac’s coveted Discovery Project in 2013. Recently this up and comer has jumped on the livestream trend, taking part in Insomnaic’s Virtual Rave-A-Thon. He’s also helped Insomniac present their One Beat livestream event, helping to celebrate unity and change. Check it out SAYMYNAME’s Elevated EP on your favorite platform or below now!
