Emerging in response to the Seattle community’s overwhelming need comes All In WA, a newly founded nonprofit. Organized by philanthropic leaders, key nonprofits and local businesses All In WA aims to provide statewide relief to workers and families affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Together with presenting sponsor Amazon, All In WA is launching A Concert for COVID-19 Relief on June 24th. In order to raise funds and awareness for the cause they’ve enlisted some of Seattle’s biggest celebrities to perform! We’ll see bands like Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews as well as artists like Macklemore and Ciara join in to help raise funds for those who need it most.
Until all of Seattle is given the green light to safely reopen their doors, various parts of the state are in phases of reopening. Currently one in five workers in WA have filed for unemployment and are facing hardships due to a loss of wages.
All In WA has already raised $20 million towards their $65 million goal, which will be distributed to 42 funds and causes through an established advisory group. At their launch All In WA snagged Amazon as the presenting sponsor, who donated $10 million in cash to the fund. Taking it one step further Amazon’s founder and CEO Jeff Bezos made a pledge to match individual donations under $1 million up to a total of $25 million!
Viewers can stream All in WA at 7:00 p.m. local time Wednesday on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel, as well as through the All In WA website, and on air via KING 5 and KONG from 7-8 p.m. For those who wish to contribute to the All In WA fund visit their Cause and Community Funds.
